Herriman is located in the southwest part of Salt Lake County and the pop-ulation is about 16,650 as of 2006, and covers an area of about 10 miles. It has been experiencing very rapid growth. The median income is about $57,000.

Herriman was founded by Robert Dansie, Henry Herriman, and Thomas Jefferson Butterfield in 1849.

It is situated in the southwest sector of Salt Lake County on Butterfield Creek about 20 miles south of Salt Lake City.

It is in the Jordan School District and has 1 Elementary School, and Fort Herriman Middle School.

Herriman is as relatively new community with many new homes and sub-divisions.

You can drive to Herriman by taking the Bangerter Highway exit from I-15 and following Bangerter Highway west.
